I know this video is kind of old, but I have been toying with the idea of a budget outdoor pond and this video is a great tool for a simpleton like myself. However, I am in Florida (No Basements) which means I may have temperature issues and possibly even predator concerns to contend with so I might be barking up the wrong tree. I was wondering if you have any suggestions. I have a jacuzzi under a gazebo with a shade on top of the gazebo, temperature turned all the way down on the jacuzzi and it still stays at around 95deg. How will I be able to regulate the temperature of an outdoor pond?

I bought feeder goldfish from Petco for my 300 gal rubbermaid livestock pond tank. Most fish pet stores have feeder goldfish. When bought, they were around an inch and a half long. Most now are around 4 inches. Plus, I saved 20 goldfish from being fed to an Oscar or ?.

You put the seal in backwards. Use a venturi on the return to aeriate the water better.

Honestly that pond is too small for that size turtle and it is not predator proof. It would be good for a hatchling but not a juvenile. I hope he wasn’t snatched by a raccoon. Also sand is a better substrate as they can ingest those small stones.

Any recommendations on fish between 10-20cm (roughly 4-8 inches) that can live in a pond just under 500L (roughly 130 US Gallons) & 22-26°C (roughly 71-79°F) if the pond also doubles as a splash pool during summer? Besides goldfish, as our other pond already has them, we are hoping to have luck with a nice catfish specie?

I live in indiana and only place i have is either outside with no covering or a small spot on my porch that can still get hit with rain. in the back i dont have a electrical outlet so yeah just checking if you have a video to address this issue. :)

Hey @sc fish keeping I just came upon ur channel and have a couple questions and I’m seeking advice so I’m 13 tryna convince my parents to let me get a pet bass I live on the lake and love bass fishing I plan on getting a 3-6 inch bass with a cast net of bluegill setup and I plan to get a 75 gallon tank I was wondering if my bass would stay the same size and fit to his aquarium bc my friend has one that has stayed the same size I also plan on feeding him small bluegill and my friend uses pellets is that a viable food source for winter ? Also how often should I feed the bass? Thanks in advance
